Join Queer Arts Initiative's generative poetry workshop to make your own work and to engage with some of the most dynamic queer writing of our day. Led by Stegner Fellow in Poetry Charif Shanahan, this weekly group will give students the space to dive into the work of contemporary queer poets and the opportunity to create their own poetry in response. Celebrated Bay Area poets Ari Banias, D.A. Powell, and Arisa White will visit over the course of the quarter to read and discuss their work with workshop participants. The series will culminate in a public, intimate end-of-the-quarter reading and celebration.
All writers welcome, regardless of major, experience or background! Writing supplies, snacks, and generous encouragement will be provided.
