SHARMI BASU is an Oakland born and based South Asian woman of color creating experimental music as a means of decolonizing musical language. She attempts to catalyze a political, yet ethereal aesthetic by combining her anti-colonial and anti-imperialist politics with a commitment to spirituality within the arts. Beast Nest, Sharmi's primary performing project, utilizes an unwavering depression and restrained horror to channel left-eyed spirits. She is an MFA graduate from the Center for Contemporary Music at Mills College in Electronic Music and Recording Media and has worked with Fred Frith, Roscoe Mitchell, John Bischoff, Pauline Oliveros, Chris Brown, Maggi Payne, and more. Her workshops on “Decolonizing Sound” have been featured at the International Society for Improvised Music, the Empowering Women of Color Conference, and have reached international audiences. She specializes in new media controllers, improvisation in electronic music, and intersectionality within music and social justice. She founded and hosts an all people-of-color improvisation and performance group called the MARA Performance Collective in Oakland, CA and was an organizer the Universe is Lit: A Bay Area Black and Brown Punk Fest. You can find out more about Sharmi at http://www.sharmi.info.

Adee Roberson is a visual artist, sound artist, and bodyworker. She has been practicing bodywork for 9 years, with a focus on providing body positive, and QTPOC centered preventative healthcare. She customizes her sessions based on what you need at the time, and what is going on for you physically, mentally, and spiritually. One focus, Neuromuscular therapy, is the application of comfortable pressure to trigger points or "knots" which helps to release and relieve pain by allowing blood and oxygen flow freely to the muscles. With this, she combines Swedish, Deep Tissue and Polarity Therapy to provide a nurturing and holistic treatment. Her goals for doing bodywork are to support people in their healing process, and to facilitate bringing the body, mind, and spirit into balance.

Paolo Flores Chico is a Trans Filpinx acupuncturist based in Oakland, CA. They graduated with a Master’s in Chinese Medicine from American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM) in San Francisco. Paolo started For the Love Acupuncture & Wellness events in 2018. For the Love includes a private practice on Piedmont Ave, wellness workshops, and a donation-based community acupuncture project featuring sound healing. Paolo is excited to share the endless benefits of Chinese Medicine with you. Core to his practice and values, Paolo finds it integral to both listen and meet people where they are. They see each client as their own best expert, and is excited to support their path towards healing.
